Tired didn't begin to cover the feeling that Emmeline felt surging throughout her entire body. Her gloved handed buried deep inside the pockets of her robes, she gripped at her body in the sheer winter cold. Although it was the afternoon, the crowds on the streets were few and far between. It seemed, and understandably enough, that the attacks had caused a panic among the wizarding world. Hushed whispers and worried glances seemed overtake the usually cheerful cobblestone street. She kept her head down to avoid the wind as she stepped from the stoop leading from the apothecary. She had been running low on a few ingredients, most of them going toward Calming draughts and Pepper Up potions, and needed to replenish before her cupboards grew bare.
The day previous had been trying. She spent the earlier part of her day with Marlene, James, Sirius, Lily and Mary. The rooftop gathering had been quiet, sad but then, she couldn't ignore the horror that had befallen her friends. She didn't want to. Then, she met Kingsley at her parents home in Ottery St. Catchpole. That had been more stressful than anything. Her parents appreciated Kingsley's efforts and offered him enough food to probably last him a lifetime in thanks. She just didn't fancy the lectures she received post-Warding about her lifestyle and how she ought to keep better care of herself and blah blah blah. She loved her parents, but-
"Kingsley?" She had looked up briefly to readjust her scarf and was surprised to see the exact person she had just been thinking about not a meter from her. She smiled and walked toward him. "Fancy seeing you here."
