Axel: Rae & Fen
"If it is true what they say, and life is a river, it is true that it is not water that makes its depth." While the woman to which he spoke might have shied away from blood, Fen didn't. Fen had always believed that blood and bone were the only true currencies, that strength pried them from others and that it was his place to make sure there were none who could rob him of even a drop while taking it from those he felt were arrogantly wasting their own.
The quiet for which he sought was simple and a respite the same as it was the occasional act of rebellion for what he felt he'd been shaped to be. Quiet wasn't what he wanted, not really. What he sought was to be not bothered. He wanted to be left to his life in whatever shape it took. It was the only thing he'd ever really wanted, outside of his siblings, leaving the Vale, and snapping Ozzie's neck at least. The latter was a constant simmer somewhere inside him and even the briefest of thoughts which went there was enough to pull the hairs on his neck to attention and he was quick to shunt them.
"If I sought the polite answer, I would not have asked." Fen spoke frankly and with a blunt truth, but didn't expect a return in kind.
