Re: Axel: Eli & Mao
"I'm just Eli," He said as he pulled the laces on his skates taut, "biblical name. One of them traditional ones. Though, I'm not much for the bible to be honest." He rolled his feet experimentally on the floor. This was going to be a sink or swim sort of learning.
He looked up at the outstretched hands. Mao was unlike anyone Eli had met he realised. The boy was all confidence and boldness. Then again, Eli hadn't socialised much outside of his brother and a few longer blood investments. Still, he could tell Mao was an exception to the people around them. He took the other's hands and rose very unsteadily to his feet.
"This is weird," He said, his voice tinged with nervous laughter. He clung a little tighter to Mao's hands than he'd intended to, one foot starting to roll backward a little whilst the other decided forward was more the direction it intended to travel.
