Re: Axel: Damian, Leena, Misha, Sadie
Damian had not been 'skating,' not in New York, not once, not ever. It was loud. Also, ostensibly playful. And two steps past paying his way through the door and Damian knew this was not a good idea and it was very far from the best. It was not that he thought he could not skate, because, his physicality was unparalleled by mortal folk. He knew he would excel at such. But, he did not enjoy being around people and he did not enjoy cheap frivolity as a general rule. He could be distracted into enduring it. He could be talked into it, such as with Misha, wherein he might enjoy himself somewhat, but Damian had grown up in isolation and his brushes with humanity had been to show him how undeserving and disgusting it was. Jersey had only cemented this notion, which was undeniably the point. Repose was somewhat more tolerable, but even still this was not, for lack of a better word, Damian Wainright's 'scene.'
However, because he had been asked by Misha, who had been asked by Leena, who surely had conferred with Sadie, and all of these were people he liked, he came. His thoughts ran similar to Misha's, in that it would be good, Damian decided, to see these people together outside of a crisis. Straight from work, he had not had time to do anything else, such as freshen up or attempt to look cute. Not that he would have done this, as he would not have.—Alone, he exchanged his shoes for skates with a strip of lights and, with a muted grimace, he donned them. His astute eye for details had already clocked the presence of the others. Leena was upon the rink, calling for Sadie, who was out there was well. Misha was approaching with a purposeful slowness, and Damian did not bother with this act.
He skated over to Misha with ease and disinterest, gliding up to the boy as if he did not feel wholly ridiculous to have feet that spangled light upon the floor. "Hello," he greeted the boy. "How was the test?" They were four or five yards from the women now, and Damian's attention shifted to them. Once he deemed them close enough to speak over the blare of music, he said: "Hello."
