Re: [Fuzzy] Forest: Julia L/Leena B
Julia wasn't an anomaly. She wasn't nothing, except maybe a cautionary tale. Not jail, she'd never graduated to jail but everything else on her greatest hits list wasn't so hot. She didn't think Pops would have cared if she liked girls instead of guys; he'd liked Nick but Nick was an asshole and Pops' perspective was always skewed, or he would never have ended up doing jail-time for other people's stuff.
But no, she didn't ask. Why would she? Whoever had hit her had made it hurt, hadn't bothered to hide it anywhere. Leena said he'd gotten what came to him and Julia had grown up places where retribution hurt and was measured out equal to whatever had started shit in the first place. No one threw a punch if they didn't goddamn expect to get it thrown back.
"Yours?" One pale eyebrow arched. "What do you do, baby? You can ask, but I don't have to answer." Quid pro quo, straight down the line. Julia stood with her palms on her thighs and squinted critically in Leena's direction.
