Re: [Outside Vade: Atticus/Steve]
"You, me, and everyone else, kid." Some views were more similar than others, of course, but it seemed no two were identical. In reality, Steve had never thought this would be an issue—dating two people. Not because he was against it. Obviously, he wasn't. But, just because... he'd never intended on dating anyone. He moved too much and distance seemed best, after Peggy. But, here he was. "'Do anything'? We talked. One time, she sat in my lap and we kissed once or twice, but that's it." Steve frowned slightly at Atticus' following description of how everything went down. "We didn't talk about the three of us many times. Mostly, and this was when they were the younger soldier—mostly, he cried and was upset, and I tried to listen."
Atticus ordered his drink, and, after a smile, seemed to want to wait in silence, so Steve obliged. He followed the other man to one of the tables and sat across from him. His posture wasn't loose, but he did spread his thighs, one foot bumping into one of Atticus'. "Sorry." Steve lifted his beer to his lips and took a swallow. The sweat and heat from the drive still felt like they were close on his skin, but the cold beer helped. He sat back in his chair, a little more relaxed now. "I don't know what I wanted," he answered honestly, his gaze on his hand circling his beer. It wasn't much, he knew, and he looked up, an upward flick of blue. He was thinking. That was obvious on his face. "I don't think I can offer to try again, as much as I wish I could. I know you're not asking me to. I just wish I could give it to you."
