Eddie and Julia: the Arcade
The arcade was loud, it was designed to be. A sensory overload for kids with enough energy to run over the Pacific ocean. Background noise for a grown ass adult who needed pings and tings to think straight. A cave of neon lights to hide in. It was all of these things and lately it was the one thing keeping Eddie sane. His magic was gone, maybe for good this time, and now he was trying to find his place back in this world. Without Stephanie, without Cat, without his family.
He was in the back, tinkering with one of the machine circuit boards when the entire arcade suddenly thunked itself into a coma. "Aaanndd the back up generator will hit in three, two-" Eddie waved his soldering iron in the air to punctuate the one. But, nothing happened. He looked up, taking off his glasses and got to his feet. It felt as though this was beyond a power outage, though he didn't know how else to describe it.
Eddie stepped out of his office, wearing his usual green get up minus the blazer and his sleeves rolled up. He slipped his glasses into his vest pocket and walked towards the canary in the coal mine. "Hello? Did you come here to murder innocent nerd machines?"
