Hannah tried to consider 'it was just part of me' as a reason not to be covered and skin, but she couldn't imagine her insides on her outsides, and she understood that he was different. It was okay, and she accepted it, and she did think his arm was beautiful where it met the shoulder. Skin and machine together, and she really wished life could be that way. She spent a lot of time on the darkweb, and she knew life wasn't like that at all, not in a good way. She sat forward and ran her thumb beneath his eye, the bright blue one, and then she dropped her hand to her lap again.
"How are you?" she asked casually, as if it wasn't important at all. "What was the dream? Maybe if you just tell me the dream it'll be easier for you." Talking about dreams wasn't really hard, right? She never had them, so she couldn't be sure, but people talked about them all the time.
