Re: Postcards: Kirk/Spock
[Written on the back of a piece of cream, linen-thick paper. The edges are torn and it's not a postcard. Back to writing, and this time it's with a nibbed pen and the writing is dense and twisted and taking up as much space as it can before it switches to the computer print-out.]
Captain,
I owe my life. Sometimes, Captain, you veer far off the straight and narrow and far enough you can't double back easily. It isn't the knowing that's the challenge. It's being free. I'm not free.
Driven doesn't need to be driven by anything except desire. I find desire is an excellent motivator. You've got yourself where you have through desire. How is that not driven?
I'm asking for your personal opinion. I don't see an arbiter of postcards around.
I don't think reminders of sweetness count against the tally for sharp. Have your sweetness, Captain. May you be happy with it.
