Re: postcard: castor & pollux.
[the return The handwriting is a little more relaxed and the note isn't condensed. There's a few smudges in the margins that don't look like ink]
Pollux,
I've hated texting for as long as I can remember. Always preferred the phone, at least since writing usually wasn't an option unless it was to myself.
There's no sense in self restraint at this point, we might as well just keep it going until the ink runs dry. You're right in saying I have a positive view of life. Hell, some days I think it's the only thing that keeps me going. It's hard to find a reason sometimes sure, but I tell you what my new friend, it's a lot easier to get out of bed when you can start your day with a dash of hope.
What's it like? Imagine a movie with the perfect soundtrack, unlimited snacks, and the kind of memories that stick you together for at least a good long time afterwards. Don't get me wrong, they can go sideways quick and I've seen friendships get trashed by them but usually they're pretty wonderful and memorable experiences you laugh at for years. Seriously, if you ever get the chance, go.
I just like people to be responsible for what gets them into trouble and don't see blaming people as the right way to go about it. Sounds to me like this King made a poor decision and, rather than be accountable for what he'd done, he cooked up some bullshit and made a patsy out of a talented artist. I don't think it'd matter if it was a man or a woman, I'd still call it for what it was.
I don't think we could handle utopia honestly. Think about people like us, who thrive on chaos and yet there's a desire for peace despite the fact we don't function well in it. The changes don't have to be bad, but it's flux and variety that make life interesting. Add that to the fact that life is permanent and we don't get do-overs? We keep alive because of that hope I mentioned. We hope we're smart enough to learn. We hope we're smart enough to be better.
If we're real lucky, we get to back to the good times we had, but you know what they say about stepping in the same river twice.
Thank you Pollux. I appreciate that and so do you. I'm glad you've got silver linings and I like our letters too. We'll keep this up as long as whatever weirdness is around. Who knows. Maybe even longer. You tell that bluebird hi from me if you see it again too, would you?
