Re: [Yelling, maybe: Steve, Janus, Atticus]
"Alright." Steve wasn't particularly in the mood to argue—which was less rare for him these days than it had once been. He wasn't in the mood to argue with Janus, not with Janis, and not with Atticus. He'd spent the entire day defending himself, and while he recognized that Atticus and Janus had a right to be upset, he would've really liked to have dealt with this after it'd settled in his mind a moment. But, they were here, and Atticus was gritting his teeth once Janus changed forms. "I don't know what happens now. I guess we'll see." He wasn't being helpful, which he knew, but this—whatever was happening here, with Janis taking on a woman's form and Atticus barely tolerating it, it was too much for him right now.
Steve stood. He didn't want to listen to them bicker. He was supposed to be the mediator, and today, of all damn days, he didn't have it in him. "I'm going to go for a walk. Thanks for the coffee," he said to Atticus, giving his cup a lift in the man's direction, before he dumped the rest of the dark liquid down the sink. He rinsed the mug and set it in the basin, then left via the door that led out to the back and the drive.
