Re: [Yelling, maybe: Steve, Janus, Atticus]
Atticus listened. Coffee in hand, he listened. Wasn't that he hadn't considered the consequences of being associated with Steve at present. Always considered consequences. Knew it wasn't something Janus, in particular, associated with him, but he did consider. Considered before going to Chicago and coming back furry. Considered now. Didn't change his feeling on the matter.
Then, the temperature changed. The wolf was steady, calm. Liked it when Janus matched. Liked it when things were calm. Was already marginally wound up due to Atticus' own agitated state, but was doing OK in Atticus head. THEN the temperature changed, and Atticus groaned before a snarl escaped his lips. Didn't see the change, but knew something was different. Wrong. The wolf just sensed fire and wrong. Made it hard for Atticus to notice the change in expression, and it was only Steve's current situation that kept Atticus seated and with teeth gritted. "Military already knows." Wasn't particularly articulate, but it was the most he could manage at present. "Live here. Spend time with us. Military knows, Steve. Signed up for this knowing that. What happens now?" And, finally, because he couldn't help himself, he looked at Janus. "Was that really necessary?"
