Re: log: welcome home - adrian and dietre
He knew Misha had recommended Dietre to him because he was going through a hard time, but it was still a little bit of a surprise how uncomfortable the guy seemed. In the split second where he took it personally that he'd missed the joke, he felt a little bad for making it in the first place. But that's how he'd get more comfortable, right? Practice made perfect. The blush was actually pretty charming on a full grown adult, if a young one. He probably had six or seven years on Dietre, at a rough guess. He was practically a retiree. "You're definitely the first person not to get a joke I told," he said, gently. He paused, and added, "That was a joke too." He smiled, for good measure. Couldn't hurt to telegraph it.
Adrian gave Sieglinde a friendly nudge with his foot as he began creating stacks of bread, enough for a couple sandwiches for each of them. Whatever they didn't eat, he figured, Sieglinde would. "You must be good, if he hired you." He reached for the packet of bacon. "Misha's a great musician, so I figure he'd only take the best." It was a flattering half-lie - Misha would probably take anyone he thought could use the work. "You'll have to play for me sometime. Sorry the house didn't come with a piano. It seems like the type of place that should have one, right?"
