He was far more interested in the ice blooming around his ignored glass. Magic was not unknown to him, it was impossible not to see it on a daily basis when he'd been at home, but the world outside had varied far more. His smile was still warm as his hand lightly graced the small of her back, ready to move if she showed herself unwilling to have it there. And unlike his smile, it was on the cooler end of human possibilities. If she was who she said she was, heat was not likely to be of interest to her, and he wouldn't spend the energy to keep himself human-warm.
