Re: log: the woods - wren/adrian
(ooc: will totally not blame you if you don't want to move on this thread anymore, I'm so sorry, I'm aware it's been more than a month :( )
The closest thing Wren had to a neighbour before he'd 'moved out' was whatever poor wretch had the bad luck to be in a cell near him, and they were usually half-dead, unconscious, drugged or too traumatised to want to talk much. He had spent most of his time alone though, the cells in his area more often empty than occupied, and the treasure of having a neighbour was as wonderful as the idea of someone kind. "A kind neighbour." he amended, his smile soft but bright.
He looked over where Adrian gestured as though he'd see Adrian's house, and while that wasn't the case his eye did glitch and let him look through trees and scrub and other things a startingly long way, telescoping his vision for a brief moment that had him shaking his head like a insect had buzzed past his ear, rubbing at his eye in irritation. "Oh." he commented, trying to be engaged even as he was distracted.
Asking him where he was from was a bad question, but thankfully he was distracted by his eye glitching and then the offer of a room which spooked him. He was still curled into himself, afraid, when Adrian made an attempt to calm him, his heart pounding even though Adrian didn't come any closer. It seemed to take him a moment to digest what Adrian was saying to him, and even then it didn't look as though the words were making a lot of sense to Wren.
He had to think back and doing that wasn't good, especially now when his mind was already all unsettled, bad memories taken flight in there like a flock of birds that had yet to settle. He mouthed the word 'house' a few times like he was trying to see how it tasted, if the feel of the consonants and vowels in his mouth would help him remember anything. "I, I come from a room, a room, a dark room and then a white room, a dark room then a white room." he said, shaking now and not through cold. "The white room was, was not in a house. The dark room... I don't want the room... I don't want it, please." he asked again, shaking so hard his teeth chattered.
