Re: log: the woods - wren/adrian
(ooc: I do apologise, one minute you have a migraine, next thing you know it's over a week later O_O :( )
Wren nodded to the rhetorical question, nothing but sincerity in those big deer eyes, watching with his head tilted as Adrian poked around at the grass he'd handed over and fretting for a moment in case his offering hadn't been good enough, chewing at his knuckles in sudden anxiety that he'd offended his new friend. But no, he shouldn't have worried because Adrian had just been being polite and Wren grinned around the finger in his mouth instead, lowering it uninjured to go twisting into the hem of his shirt again. "You are very kind." he said, as though it was something so unusual that Wren had to be sure to express how much he appreciated it, as though Adrian had somehow gone out of his way by not refusing Wren's gift.
He bent where he was and briefly plucked up more grass and picked at some grass seeds, standing and eating them absently. "You live close by!" he exclaimed, pleased to hear it as though they'd be neighbours now. He really liked Adrian and his kindness and his manners and the way he had transformed from a crow and how he was like a piano, beautiful the way his strings made music.
He shuddered like an icy wind had blown across him even though the air remained mild as it had been, some lively spark inside him doused immediately. "No, no please, I do not want the room please, please." he begged, hushed, his voice small and terrible in it's hopelessness, even his body language moving from the friendly if twitchy open stance of before to something curled into itself and defensive but still, the learned helplessness of a lab rat resigned to whatever fate awaited it.
