Re: [Reaction]
Wonder if there's a way to find out. [Atticus, for all his laziness, was irrepressibly curious about things. It explained his foray into all things supernatural. Was curious. Was curious now, about the ring on Aiden's finger. Would be nice to be able to say it was pure altruism and a desire to help the reaper, but that wasn't the case. Was curious himself. Wanted to know what the bone ring meant.] Might be rituals we can do to find out. Know a demon I can ask. [He smiled his lazy smile. The wolf had made Atticus more daring than he'd been in the past.]
Don't want it to control me. [Was willing to talk about the wolf. The lovers in his life didn't ask. Didn't know why. Atticus was fond of talking, as was evidenced by this exchange. Slouched back some more, hands folded on plump belly.] Too much passion for me. Get animalistic sometimes now, and that's strange enough. Don't like the thought of being not myself. Happens once a month, but not remembering makes it less me. [Grinned slowly.] Am good at not facing realities, in case you hadn't noticed.
[Accepted the gift of being titled wordsmith with an inclination of his head. The comment about not being baptized by fire was much more interesting.] Then what fire? Are you going to tell me death knows no congregation or dogma? Would be interesting. Might even be interesting enough for me to write the book I put off for 40-plus years. [His grin said he was speaking in jest. Atticus was much too lazy to ever finish any type of novel, even a short one on an interesting subject.] Think it would be a good thing. Serve all the Protestants right.
[Chuckled.] Have met gods. Have met entities who claim they're gods. A Mesopotamian one once. A Greek madness goddess. Now, a Norse god trapped inside a woman, and then there's a god that claims it's a concept. The concept of Desire. Capital "D" deliberate. [His expression said he took all of these things with a grain of salt, but it wasn't for him to disprove Repose's deities.] Don't see why the Christian god is any different than the rest. Do you? [Was Atticus' opinion on faith, there in a few sentences and offered across a wooden table.]
