Re: [Reaction]
Epicurus would argue you weren't understanding. Definitely but not at all? Assume you mean that it's obviously the death of the body and soul, but that there's more to it than that. Would agree with you there. Epicurus can take it up with both of us. [Watched as Aiden unbuttoned and looked at that flash of tattoo, trying to make out the imagery.] My personal favorite: Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? [Chuckled.] Saucy man for his time.
[Atticus lifted his ass sufficiently to pull out a cigarette pack, lighter tucked in. Plastic, the lighter. Not metal.] Mind? [He asked, pulling out one cigarette and tapping it lightly on the desk.] Could get one of those pens. Not bother people while smoking it, but am too old a dog for a new trick. [Continued to tap.] Once, for a very long once, I feared ending up with the haunts I'd been denying my entire life. Feared walking around, starving for anything, like they are. Wanted to live forever. Now, with each moon, I feel older. Know I won't make 70 or 80. Don't mind it anymore. You? Were you even old enough to feel death pursuing you?
[With the hand holding the cigarette, he motioned to the tattoo visible over the edge of Aiden's wifebeater.] What's the design? The meaning?
