Re: log: louis and ren
Louis wasn't particularly good at playing roles. He had one, and it seemed to change all the time. A few years ago, that role had focused primarily on a kind of brittle, bitter strength against the constant waves of trouble that had chased the Alexander family around the county. Now that the onslaught had come to a stop, he'd been given the gift of time - to get to know himself, and to settle into his own skin a bit more. It had made him a happier person in the long run. The last year had been bumpy and difficult, but he did feel, at last, that he was coming out the other side of it now.
All that said, this person that he played - once brittle, now more at ease - was still not a confident lothario or the star of the play, not by any means. Yet he felt he could stand on both feet with Ren, which he liked. There was no need to grope blindly for his bearings, or wonder if he might say the wrong thing. Ren seemed to like him any way, all the same.
