Re: log: louis and ren
The expression on Ren's face, and the momentary spark in the air, they made Louis wonder, privately. There were people one never got over, not really, not even when wanting someone else, or when that person had been bad news. Louis could think of at least one person in this town who he still felt a small something for, despite his complete conviction that they would never be together and it would never, ever work. The person Ren remembered might fall into that category, or he might be something more. Unless he arrived in town or Ren had a revelation, there would never be any way for him to know.
He'd had a bit of wine himself, and that florid stroke of poetry made him smile, color in his pale cheeks, as promised. "Call the Romantics, we have ourselves a poet," he said. Had Ren just kissed his hand? It was charmingly antiquated, a quality he might just have affection for.
"Because we're knowledgeable," he said. "On a great many topics."
