The point of watching someone who might be suicidal, but doesn't want to get help, is that it isn't voluntary. I begged you to do it voluntarily. You refused. I thought I might be wrong about your mental state, and then I talked to you on the phone. You sounded so depressed I thought you might do something to harm yourself. If I had given you warning, you could have refused and gone back home, where no one could reach you, and no one could help. There is no world in which that decision involves you. You would have said it was nothing serious again. Or no?
