Quicklog: Sadie and Misha
"Lov'." She paused, a look all semi-serious and dramatic like. "Nothin' could keep me from an invitation like tha'. Nothin't'tall." Which she very much did mean. "I'll be there with me best on and maybe even a bell or two on me shoes." She smiled softly over at him. "We'll coordinate some on what to make for Damian. Had a sister I did, who fancied herself a vegetarian for a short bit after seein' how a farm worked, and a Da' who I'm surprised had a stomach at all with the fire he ate, so I'm sure we canβ"
Sadie's voice hitched a half moment when the rest of the words he'd said settle into her brain but...but that was too much. Sadie believed in happenstances, stars aligning, and a general goodness in the world. Heck, she even coulda been sold on miracles, if perhaps not still slightly shaded by recent losses. Point was, like Misha, she was getting so caught up in the nice it was easy to run with. That was all it was and Sadie just shook her head to cast it off like the last bits of sleep come mornin'.
Though not a bit of that, or any other force in the universe, could have dulled her smile.
"I'm sure we can find something." She pushed a laugh out like she was having a chuckle at the way she rambled. "And we'll all sit down and have a nice bit of hot and some talkin'. Real home-style." There was an easy to read hope in her tone, as if she'd just now realized she was out in the cold and this suggestion was exactly the fire she needed to see on the horizon. It was almost an uncomfortable thing to feel, or woulda been if not for who'd brought it about at least. Misha, Sadie just got the impression sometimes he got her in a way folk didn't. Maybe that was just getting swept up in it too, but she really did give him all the credit for her still being here in Repose and what that'd brought her.
Didn't change the fact that he made her feel real at home, with a quickness at that. Even the way he offered what she'd just said, it touched her innards in that same way a good slice of apple pie did β and not the store bought kind neither.
"Good grief." Sadie shifted into the topic of the town, somewhat glad she'd so far slipped somewhat under the radar. "Bet you made a right fetching prince though, even if callin' you charmin' could be seen as a bit of the obvious." She smirked at him playfully, though she could easily see him being taken for quite the charmer. Or maybe that was just the homey feel he always seemed to be bringing with him. Either way, Sadie liked paying him compliments. Especially when they were true.
"Still wouldn'ae trade it." She added at the end. "S'nice, havin'a place what feels like home 'gain." And that was added in all soft but genuine. By the minute she was realizing how much she'd missed. In fact, it was at just about the same rate Misha kept offering it and, while it was the best of things, it did threaten to choke up the waif sitting in front him.
Fortunate there was nail polish, six bottles in all and spanning a good chunk of the rainbow, all lined up on the counter and serving as a very nice distraction as Sadie set about sweeping them into her hands before she moved to hold them out to Misha whilst addressing the rest of what they were talking about; because why not multitask with distractions too?
"Think the center's where the real magic is β and you help yourself if you want more'n one too. I got doubles of most the colors β but it's the center where folks is watchin' most, where you can put on a real show like and touch thems what's payin' you mind." Plus it made it easier to spot the people who, for whatever reason, you just weren't going to be able to hook. "S'why I'm keen on puttin' somethin' up proper on'a stage 'ere. Ne'er dun'it before, but think it sounds fun." It was another of Sadie's signature rambles, but she was able to redirect it easily at the end.
"So what's it yer goin' to school for? Just gettin' better at things or lookin' to hone up something specific?" Sadie only a guess at what a performing arts center might entail as far as schooling went, though she thought it was a good one and was interested in Misha's life even if the inquiry might have made her look a bit silly.
