Re: [ER: Newt & Patrick]
Patrick's smile held. The red continued to color the tips of his ears, and now it was his turn to push blond hair off his own forehead. "Dude, yes, the case. I was perfectly aware that we were speaking of the case." All right, so the dude was not actually expecting to be so terribly impressed with the case, but he was curious. And, thankfully, it was a non-gutter topic of conversation, not that the dude was admitting to any gutter presence whatsoever.
"They have arms and wings." Thank goodness for the demons, man, because this was safe territory. Here, Patrick could find his footing, and he was glad Newt did not push about Con and the accident. Now, this was just like all the other things Patrick did not address in his life that most absolutely required addressing. It was the type of thing that could have most terrible repercussions, perhaps, especially since he moved along timelines himself, but he had brought it up once (and only once) to his sis in recent years, and he had not attempted the conversation again. "Was it your last year? I am thinking yes, right? Since it was tests you returned to take." He looked a little sheepish. "All right. Perceived. This is what I meant. I do not actually believe it is wrong to be gay." It was just wrong for him to like dudes.
For Patrick, it most certainly felt like his salvation was being snatched away at the last moment; this showed on his face. But, then Newt made this new offer, and Patrick grabbed for the dude's hand- both of his hands- all of his hands. "All right. I can do that. You won't get into trouble for doing it?" This mattered. Even with hope gleaming in seagrass gaze, that Newt would not suffer for this was important.
