Re: Log, coffeeshop: Ren S & Newt P
"Fate?" Newt asked without irony, but he did smile. "I hope you know. It can be easier, certainly, than making a decision." He knew that well enough. The man sipped his tea, appreciating it. "It's quite good, by the way, thank you," he said of it and giving his cup a lift, before he emptied it of brew. Newt rolled his lips together. "My book's about animals. I'm a zoologist." It was close enough, and he'd used the word enough, it didn't sound entirely false. He did smile, but that could be attributed to awkwardness, rather than not being truthful.—But, he was done now, with the tea, and he felt he shouldn't linger. He felt, really, like a complication, and no one wanted those 'round longer than they needed to be. He put money on the counter for the tea. "I should get going, but it was nice to meet you." Newt smiled again, another twitch, even if he didn't look Ren in the eye. "Perhaps next I'm in, I'll ask for this, so long as you're working."
He didn't wish the man good luck with Adrian, as it wasn't his place, but he did hope things worked out for them. He gave the counter a pat, then waved awkwardly, and scurried out of the coffeeshop as quickly as he'd scurried in.
