Re: [mary/patrick save a girl]
He had been here before, to her world, but Patrick was always chilled to the core in this place. Everything was dead, burnt and black. The woods had the eerie stillness that Repose's woods had in the evenings recently, and the dude could barely hear the trees. Every once in a while, he heard an anguished whisper, a nearly inaudible moan, man, and the sound felt like pain to his sensitive ears. Dude felt a chill, and then he felt the same determination he always felt when he saw this place; they must save this.
The tomb loomed, and dude pocketed his stones. He knew it for what it was, the burial ground, though his mom's people did not bury their dead. But this was most human, and he began to walk slowly, expecting Del to tell him if there was danger before arriving at their destination. His hand was upon his sword, and the stones were in his pocket, where he could easily reach for them to combat magical evil.
"So, do we make small talk while we embark on our quest?" he asked in a whisper, because the still was most unnerving. "I could ask about you and Dyl, my girl."
