Re: [B&B: Nish & Atticus & Aiden, entrance]
There was no shaking hands or even a hint of a smile on the Reaper’s part, it wasn’t strictly necessary, so it wasn’t part of his routine. He made for a terrible party guest this way, not that he was invited often, or ever really. He’d have a couple of party tricks up the sleeve of his coat, though, to entertain if he chose to want that. The not so popular ‘look, I got your soul’, only one of them, albeit the most impressive.
It made sense for the ghost magnet to be able to manipulate the spirits in a way, they seemed very attached to him, like a group of grotesque pets. Personally, Aiden wouldn’t pick a group of ghosts to associate with, but to each their own. He however did feel the need to caution, from his plethora of experience he knew not to divulge sensitive information so easily. Even the man’s wolf was no match for some of the entities out there. “You should be careful, someone might want to take advantage of your gift.” He didn’t make it sound like a gift, more like he didn’t know exactly how to tell the human that he got handed a bag of poop with a bow on it.
Aiden couldn’t find the motivation to be offended on behalf of the dead, not to mention that Atticus wasn’t wrong with the statement about the lying spirits. There was a reason folklore didn’t hail the departed as the most benevolent beings, with exceptions of corpse. He couldn’t even find it in him to be semi offended on behalf of himself, being kind of half dead and all that. Even if someone had a sort of sane reason to remain after dying, it usually went down the drain fast from there. Lying spirits were the least of your problems, they could get quite invasive and violent. As for the sad soul at hand. “I have some time until the next assignment.” Which was as affirmative as he would get. He had the time and the means, the rest wasn’t up to him, decisions not his to make. Although he couldn’t fathom why anyone would want to live with the ghost of a loved one.
He rose to his full height of 6 feet again and motioned to the door, an ‘after you’ implied. “Don’t worry, if they send me… you’ll be exactly where you belong.” Aiden had a pretty good success rate, if he remembered correctly, excluding the assignments he didn’t recall.
