Re: [The Bridge over the River: Patrick/Newt]
Your feelings are valid, man. Do not feel you need to question them because Adrian is my bro. Anything and anyone that makes you feel as you feel is something you need to get away from, Newt. Whether it is intentional or not does not matter. What mattes is you getting to a better place. [He did not feel Newt was being overly dramatic, man, and the dude understood what it meant to feel most overwhelmed.
And he was trying to do the right thing. Dude was young, but he was trying to be mature about everything, and that included wanting what was best for Newt. He nodded when the dude agreed to take some time.] I am most gentlemanly. [He said this as he began to walk toward the house on the riverbank. His arms were folded behind his back, one hand clasping a wrist lightly, and he looked over at Newt as the grass crunched underfoot.] I saw the fliers. I was surprised there were fliers, man, no lie. Des posted about it, but I did not comment about it to her, as I am not respecting her wishes or something similar. [It made him feel like his bro, honestly, though he did not say this, and in his head he did not think he'd behaved as Adrian did. At least he did not believe this was the case.
In front of the house, he stopped. Rufus lifted his head, and Patrick crouched and scratched at a floppy ear, and then he straightened again and regarded Newt.] It has been a rough time, man. It is all right. Think about what I have said, all right? And if this fair is still going when I return, then we will attend.
