[Log: Demon and Hood go rescue a gifted child]
Who: Scott Winters, Jason Woods
Where: edges of Repose
When: recently!
What: while the town is distracted by a lost child, the Dragon searches for another
Warnings: violence. i guarantee it!
Scott's ability to read minds had dampened since the loss of his sight and enhancement of other powers, but it didn't take a psychic to tell Hood was faltering. The girl he was assigned to guard was known for one very dangerous quality: she was friendly. One of the greatest temptations away from the Dragon. Friendship brought weakness, brought dependency, brought a clouding of thoughts. Friends like that girl would make Hood complacent, malleable in her hands. And, Scott only knew this because he vaguely remembered what it was like to have friends at that age. The Demon remembered how all of them made him weak, angry and tired. He wanted the boy to be strong. He wanted him to slowly show the girl the way of the Dragon and see why they were the only path towards making the world right again.
And so, the only solution was to take Hood along with him for a mission. One with purpose, a mission that meant everything to Scott. To the Demon. One of the Dragon Elders could sense a girl in the woods with great powers. A girl in pain, they said. A girl who was used by people who thought they had answers, but didn't understand the real truths to the universe. It was explained to Hood in a message with a location to meet:
Hood-
Gifted girl kept by religious zealots in the woods. Dangerous. Heavily armed. Found location. Need backup.
Demon
Dressed in his dark, blood red suit, the Demon waited in the forest outside of the cemetery. Snow had finally started to fall, freezing the earth below to make it crunch underfoot. It made stealth difficult, which was crucial in a surprise attack. The Demon believed it would be a good challenge for the Hood. After all, in his heart, Scott was a teacher.
