Re: Quicklog, Patrick's cabin: Patrick G/Newt P
[Patrick chuckled as Pickett pointed, and he glanced over at Newt's face. He was pleased, which maybe seemed unnecessary, but the dude thought of this at home, and he found it beautiful. The fact that it was appreciated by Newt mattered, and he could tell it was appreciated; Newt's face was most expressive. He was fairly certain that Newt had forgotten all about him for a moment, but Patrick did not mind this. Instead, he nodded and began walking toward the house in the tree.] We are just outside of Arborlon, the elf capital. It is beautiful there, but it is crowded. Here I have more space, and I am not full-elf. I do not feel like I belong in the elven capital, though I have a room there. But you can see the capital from the house.
[He too recalled their first meeting, and he chuckled. He forgot, or he had forgotten during his conversation with Jack, that they had not met through Adrian. Somehow, he had come to think this was true.] No. I did not know what I was doing with the chron then. I believe he was from further back or forward in the timeline. Where he came from was not here. Or maybe it was Repose in the same time period. I am not sure. We are on the West Coast here. [He nodded toward Pickett.] Why is he so excited?
[The stairs up to the house were winding and long, but Patrick was not lying that Arborlon was visible from the top, the Ellcrys bright and red and growing from the center of the capital. He nodded toward it, and then he ducked into the house.
Inside, everything was set against the rounded walls of the space, and sun filtered in through spaces in the wooden slats that made up the exterior. There was a tub, a bed, a desk and many small tables and plants. Doused candles were used to light the space, and there was no electricity present. There was a pump for water and a small table for eating, and Patrick set his bag upon the table, tucked the stones into their satchel and a pocket, and then he pulled out his food with his left hand, which was no small feat.] Sit, man.
