[Eddie minded his coffee and the crossword that was hidden under his work. A trained eye, someone who knew him well enough, could tell that he was tracking the stride of the kid over to his booth. The kid sat and Eddie sat straight, coffee mug still in hand. His dark eyes calculated. Then, with no emotion behind his voice:]
You've got to be fucking kidding me.
[He took a sip, eyebrows going up as liquid went in. The mug lowered and he offered her a smile that was poorly masking panic.] Is this the latest fad? I had just signed up for the aged down thing and now you're all switching genders? Well, [He set the mug down and leaned back, folding his arms.] at least I already look stunning in an evening gown.
