Re: Rehab: Misha B & Damian W
[Misha didn't want to take Damian from this place. He could scoop Damian up, tuck him away somewhere Heavenly and that Lyssa couldn't reach. He might lose his wings for it, but he knew Heaven wouldn't put Damian back. He knew on account of Damian's strength, and how the boy could tip the balance, and he knew Heaven would take anything they could get when it came to getting one-up in the eternal war. But, taking Damian out of here, Misha knew it meant truncating all them sessions the boy was going to, and Misha knew Damian's staying clean, it had to come from Damian learning and finding his own ways of coping. Whisking him away, it might keep the boy safe from Lyssa, but it would hurt him in the long run, and Misha kept reminding himself of that every time something awful happened.]
She's a god. [Misha said that plain and defeated.] I can scorch her and push her back, but I can't destroy her. Nilus says it can be done, but I don't know 'nough to do it. [He had to talk to Nilus, to Claire, but he was too damned tired for anything just now other that this boy. It wasn't that he was pained or nothing like that, but Misha was spent from energy use, and he would be just fine with some time. And, Damian, he was giving that time.
Misha let the boy drape and wedge close, and he wrapped his arms 'round Damian low at the boy's back. He smiled at the thank you offered in Damian's pretty tongue, and he closed his eyes and ducked his head 'nough to nose at Damian's hair a second.] I get so scared for you. I get so worried she's going to break you, and that I won't be able to do a thing to stop it. [He opened his eyes again, chin to chest and so he could try to look on Damian's face some.] But you're strong, and I know that too. I know you're strong, and that you can fight her off if you're just feeling good again. I know it's just 'bout buying time 'til you're on your feet again.
[All them things, spoke in the aftermath of nightmares and nosebleeds, were true.] You're strong. And you don't got to thank me, even if it's in pretty sounding Arabic. I'll take care of you, and you'll take care of me.
