I'm sorry that he did that. Unsurprised, but sorry. I suppose I'm lucky he couldn't have come to my school, even if he'd wanted to. [He thinks.] Once you left for school, I was by myself. Up until I went myself, of course. But, before then, it was me—I think you rather get used to it. And I liked the animals, the insects. They didn't expect me to be anything other than what I was. People always do, don't they?
