[restaurant; ren & hannah]
"All right," Ren shrugged, but there was a smile. "If you get me a notebook, I'll try writing again." He reached for the drink and finished off the rest of it, reaching for the check to sign it. He hadn't thought to start writing again in Repose, but maybe there was something to the idea. It might even be something that would be helpful for him in sorting out all the other things he was trying to do. "And the party sounds... like my sort of thing. Maybe I will go at that," he grinned, and stood, reaching for his jacket to put on.
"I think the thing this date needs, to make a perfect practice one, is a walk around town," he reached his hand for hers. "Are you game?"
But he suspected that she would be, and he found himself grateful that she was willing to do this sort of thing with him, grateful that he'd stumbled across her in a laundromat, and he'd known enough to teach her how to do things. For he needed all the friends that he could get, and perhaps more he needed friends who could boost his own optimism about things, and Hannah was almost certainly doing that - and although he'd largely found the idea of a practice date to be a joke, he found that he was less anxious about the concept. It had gone so well with Hannah - why wouldn't it go well with Louis?
