[restaurant; ren & hannah]
It took rather a lot for Ren to blush. He was a theatre animal, and he'd acted on ridiculous desires as a part of that and seen a fair amount that was even more ridiculous, but Hannah's statement, as loyal and as simple as it was, did bring color to his cheeks. And maybe he ought to worry at how easily she proclaimed it, and wonder about the intentions behind this whole practice date, but he had decided to take her at her word rather early on in their relationship and so he had done so here - for better or for worse.
"You're not allowed to quit?" Ren asked her, looking up over the water glass, confusion in his eyes. She had made him think that she was in some sort of office assistant job which hardly seemed like the sort of thing that would have a very strict contract. In fact, he couldn't think of many jobs where you'd have something like that. I mean maybe things where it would be too difficult to get out of, or you'd have stringent things to follow if you did leave, but there had to be something else there. "Is it just money?" He asked, feeling like it was an awkward question but he had a difficult time imagining anything else being the case.
He paused as the wine arrived and was opened, a glass poured for each of them, and he swirled it gently before taking a sip, smiling as he sat it down. "A reading is, well it could be more than one thing - it could be from a book, but I was thinking more of an open script sort of thing. We'd have people on state, with the scripts, but it would be a performance that doesn't have props or set design - it's a reading of the script, but one that is rehearsed, and some of the actors would probably memorize key scenes. It doesn't have the technical requirements of a full on performance, but would be a way to try out interest even."
