Re: [restaurant; ren & hannah]
She smiled at the gentlemanly nature of his response, and she moved aside just a little and enough to give him a curtsy that was low and pretty, an indication that she'd probably watched a youtube video about curtsying at some point. She was tall, 5'10 and long legs, and her pants weren't really made for curtsying, but she pulled it off really well. "Thank you, kind sir. That's a really sweet thing to say at the beginning of a practice date."
The walk to the table was something new for Hannah. She'd eaten in restaurants before, but not really one like this, and she weaved between tables like they were boats dotting a bright and teal sea. Teal, because the decor was too bright for a standard ocean, and the boats were probably all colorfully painted in her mind's eye. He slid into the booth, and she slid into the opposite side, and she took his menu instead of reaching for her own. It was a playful tug of plastic between his fingers and away, and her smile was a flirty thing made of deliberate teasing. Practice dates, she assumed, had to include a little bit of flirting.
"Are you working in the theater now?" she asked, attentive and genuinely curious. Pretend dates should probably include pretend curiosity, she reasoned, but this wasn't pretend at all. "I think the answer is no, since you work in Repose, and I think I'm going to ask what happened, and I think you might not tell me very much." All of it honest, and then she smiled at him. "Can we order tempura veggies, or is it sacred?"
