Re: [Carriage House: Steve, Janus, Atticus]
I would've, [he said of PJ,] but she set me straight. Is she here? [Steve followed Atticus inside, glad of the warmth that came. His feet were filthy, so he spent a moment or two trying to wipe the soles of his feet on the rug just inside the door. Ultimately, however, it looked like a shower was the only thing that was going to help, so he continued after Atticus, trailing him to the sofa where—well, there was Janus.] Um. [Steve didn't sit on the coffee table. He'd break it. He stood off to the side a little ways, arms folded again over breadth of chest, as he looked down at Allen on the sofa.
He didn't talk about how he'd been, because it was kind of distracting, whatever was going on with Janus.] Is he okay? [Reminded, he looked to Atticus again.] And what happened to you? Did someone hurt you? [He felt guilty for his disappearance. He knew he had a lot of people to contact, but he was trying not to focus on all of that right now.]
