Ezra was entirely entranced by the words on the page that the sound of her voice had sounded so distant, like a dream. Usually his senses were sharp - his eyes were keen, hearing impeccable. And yet, just like every other human he tended to get a little distracted. “Hm?” Came the reply.
Making himself look up, he glanced around until the young woman appeared in his vision. She wasn’t too far away for conversation and yet not nearly close enough in such an atmosphere to keep an exchange of words between them. Ezra was not a typically shy person. He was quiet, not as outgoing as Nazareth but he knew how to be around people. The question he thought he’d heard was rewound in his mind and he considered the response to give.
“Vampires.” She’d asked a question pertaining to the subject (one of a good many) in the book perched in his lap. And of course who could miss that instrument case. His eyes crawled over it, studying the outline for a moment before his gaze found hers again. “Violin?”
