Re: Venus Envy: Jess & Hannah
"Yes," she said, returning the stage whisper, the ever-present grin still tugging at her lips. "Everyone in this town is crazy, especially me," she said in that same hushed tone, then laughed brightly and took a sip of her coffee. "As long as I can remember the people here have been weird. I guess I just don't see it anymore. You get desensitized, you know? I guess that's part of why I came back...this is what I know, and I'm just...I think I've had enough of New York." Her smile never wavered, as easy and cheerful as ever, but there was definitely more to her decision to move back home.
"So," said, changing the subject, "military facility, huhh? That's interesting. It must be like going through the worst security in the world just to get to work in the morning!" she guessed. "But at least they don't have you wearing some ugly uniform to work," she added, giving her another appreciative look. That outfit really did flatter her figure, and Jess had always been drawn to beauty of any sort. Not necessarily in a sexual or possessive way, but as one would appreciate a work of art from behind the velvet rope.
