Re: antique store: sam & julia
"Yeah, I seen his name on the journals. He's always kinda pissed or something." That was all Sam knew about Cisco. When she worked in the store, she heard all the gossip, but she didn't go there much now. That was Cris' place, not hers, and she didn't like going in there and acting like she knew everything or whatever. So, yeah, she'd seen Cisco's name on the journals, but that was about it.
Outside, Sam thought about belonging, and she just lifted her shoulders. "Yeah, IDK. IDK you belong to like a PLACE, but maybe that's just me. I live here, huh? That's all." Anything more was too much introspection for Sam. It was too much looking around and figuring out where she fit. Nah, Sam just shoved herself into the jigsaw puzzle, and she really didn't give a fuck if her piece fit. They paid their bills, same as anyone else, which meant they got to stay. "But if it's important for you, belonging or whatever, I hope you manage." Maybe that Cisco guy belonged. Sam wasn't fucking sure.
Screaming was more Sam's thing, and she looked happier for having made all that sound. Julia laughed, and Sam thought that was good TOO. Laughing was always good, and Sam always wanted more of it. So, yeah, it was a good ending. "Yeah, yeah, ok, next time it'll be louder," she said of Julia's un-screamed assertion that she was happy. It was good enough for tonight, huh?
