Re: [The Cat: Nishka & Cat & Jack]
She watched Cat return and nodded to her, "yeah, someone on the forum was mentioning him," she said, not making the connection that it had been this someone. That other someone had been kind of a bitch, but this one was pouring her drinks so was pretty high in her opinion. "I defend all kinds," she said in answer, "and several I was positive were guilty, though you didn't hear it from me." She nodded at the offer of another round, tilting her head towards Jack.
"He's buying, apparently, but he'd better not get any ideas," she added without thinking. It was a total lie, of course, she couldn't count how many men (and women) she'd picked up while drinking at a bar, mostly because she couldn't remember all of them. But tonight...no, not tonight.
"Well, the universe knows what it's doing, so I've heard," she continued the earlier conversation. "Balance in all things? I just have yet to actually experience it." Being an attorney, you see some of the worst that humanity has to offer. And her life seemed to have been pretty heavy handed on the bad karma scale. So either she'd been extraordinarily horrible in a previous life (which, with Loki living in her head is quite likely), or the universe really just doesn't give a shit about balance.
