Re: [The Cat: Nishka & Cat & Jack]
She'd definitely found people. She'd come here looking for one person, and ended up finding others instead. Sadie was her anchor here now, the girl who had no idea that she simultaneously reminded her of her childhood friend and her dead lover, for different reasons. Loki thought she was being ridiculous for clinging to her like she was, but his opinions were easy to silence with enough alcohol - the more was in her system, the less she could hear him.
"Sure," she said, at his offer of more alcohol. She downed the last of the whiskey in her glass and put it down on the bar, a bit away from her so it could be filled when Cat came back.
"My brother's a cop," she said with a bit of a grin, "he's a detective with the Portland PD; he'd never pick up and move here." He was too invested in where he was, convinced he could make a difference and bring safety and justice to the streets. As she sat here drinking, he was under cover trying to take down a drug ring, putting himself in danger for other people. She admired him, and thought he was crazy, in equal measure.
