Re: [The Cat: Nishka & Cat & Jack]
Cat nodded her head at the greeting, and she watched as Niska settled her gaze on Jack. She paused, did Cat, glasses refilled, and she also nodded her acknowledgement about the drink. And, well, it was obvious the woman, Nishka, was talking about someone dead. That wasn't new to Cat. Most of the people who came to drink at her bar were drinking something away, and lost loved ones were high up there on the list. Dead, divorced, somewhere across the country, whatever the reason? Losing a lover hurt, and she thought perhaps Jack and Nishka had something to bond over.
Anyway, they were looking at each other, and Cat wiped down the bar in front of them. "Now that introductions are made and glasses filled, I'm going to check on the others," she said, motioning to the other drinkers at bar, pool tables and pinball machines. "Call me if you need anything. You two get friendly." She tapped the bar with the flat of her palm and, as promised, she started making her way down the bar's long and wooden length.
