Re: [B&B: Nishka and Atticus]
Inclined his head when she said she shouldn't have another beer. Agreeable, no problem, and the motion accompanied by that lazy smile of his. All good. Nothing to worry about.
Picked up her empty smoke tucked into the corner of his mouth, and he tossed it out with his own. The glass clattered. Should've recycled, but this was Repose. Wasn't as easy to recycle out here as it was in New York; Atticus liked easy.
Took one more drag off the smoke, then ashed it out and went to rinse the makeshift ashtray. That done, he flicked the switch to turn off the kitchen light. "Have a good night's sleep. Am usually in the study or across the way at the Carriage House, if you can't sleep. Warning. Someone else might answer over there, but everyone's nice."
With that said, he inclined his head to her once more. Was still a while before the sun rose. Plenty of time to lose himself in some more letters and dusty tomes.
