His nonchalant answer to her question didn't immediately dispel her nameless fears about him, and Loki was still very much on guard, but she accepted his answer as plausible. Closure could mean that. And yet...
'Do you really believe that?' Loki echoed her own thoughts. She had no reason not to; just a feeling.
So she nodded, slowly, still watching him carefully, but letting herself relax again. His next comment confused her, and she watched him throw out his beer bottle in silence. "Something...like what?" she asked, frowning just a little, but more interested now that nervous. She thought maybe, just as Loki seemed to think there was something off about him, maybe he thought the same of her, but then she dismissed it outright. She was just being paranoid. She took a last sip of beer, feeling somewhat bereft to find that she'd finished it.
