log: hannah and ren
At the truck there was a pause, a hesitation as Ren sized up the situation as quickly as he could. He'd told the boy that he had him, and he didn't want to put him into a situation that was going to leave him as bad off as he'd been in there. But as his eyes met the man's, and then he followed-up with a glance to Hannah, the decision was made and he hoped his typical ability to guess at what people's intentions were served him well tonight.
He moved forward, gently sitting the boy inside. "You'll be all right," Ren told him, offering a smile, if a worried one. He stepped back hoping he hadn't lied, but he thought it was likely true.
But with the boy delivered, that left him and Hannah and he turned, sliding a hand around her back, as he reached for her. "We need to get out of here," he told her, determined, leading her in the opposite direction of the crowd. "How did you get here?"
