Re: log: hannah and ren
Hannah knew it was a really unsavory place, but that wasn't why she'd asked him to come along. No, no, the reason was simple; she was scared. She wasn't scared of being hurt, though she knew this was a place where danger lurked and trouble loomed. But it was emotions she feared. It was her own reactions she feared. And holding his hand, arm looped with his and pressed close to his side, that made her feel stronger. She knew it wasn't true, and that she couldn't be made stronger by the presence of a friend, but it was what she felt, and Hannah was quickly learning to trust the feeling in the very center of her belly, and to trust it above the logical whirring of her gears.
"I was reading about things to do in the Capital, and this place caught my attention because of work. I work for the military in the Facility, and they do a lot of work with AIs, with robots, and I think maybe it's not all good. And then I read about this place, where they entertain themselves with them, kind of like the old dog fights and things, and I wanted to see if I thought it was as bad as I thought it would be." The story was true, mostly, and she had found out about this place online, and there weren't lies in the words that tumbled past her lips in a sad recitation. But there was an omission, one she knew he wouldn't know was there, and so they neared the ticket taker and she pulled two tickets from her pocket. "Can we still go inside?" she asked him.
