Re: [The Capital Mall: Atticus & Janus]
Janus looked over his shoulder as a sleeved arm appeared over it. It wasn't quite a twitch of surprise, nor was it entirely calm. Somewhere in the middle, but then he blinked and relaxed, smiling a moment later over the wool slightly salted with a lupine hair or two. He looked up into Atticus' eyes, pushing the hem of his own hat upward to just over his eyebrows as he pulled an elbow back over his seat to rotate and face Atticus as the man moved around the table. The food court smelled too strongly of fried foods for Janus to notice anything about how Atticus smelled, though the wolf probably got a good whiff of the reverse.
Janus had already eaten most of the sticky bun, and he pushed the rest across the table in Atticus' direction, sitting up with obvious eagerness and good humor. He planted his elbows on the edge of the plastic-sealed table. "So, are you ready to bust your closet wide open?" He looked at the curl of dough in the box, then at Atticus' mouth, and then back, impatient. A bare few moments later he said, "We going small stores first or department stores?" He put his fingers around the edge of the table's farthest corner and pulled over to turn his chin into his collarbone and look under it. "Shoes?"
Janus pocketed his phone and glanced over at Atticus' bookbag with sudden interest in the contents.
