Re: Mean-Eyed Cat: steph/cat
[Stephanie picked her head up off the bar and looked at Reece through one slightly blurry eye. A shaky hand waved at him over her shoulder.] Excellent. [Her head thunked down again, and she felt a little dizzy. She waved in the direction of the bottle, too.] Yes, pour us both drinks. [She lifted her head finally and patted the stool next to her to invite Reece to sit. She didn't know him too well, beyond that Cat loved him and small chats here and there, but Steph was ready to word vomit on whomever was ready to listen right then and there. Tequila helped, and the anger of Eddie's ex being around helped, and the emotional storm brewing inside of her helped.] Eddie thinks I'm plotting to leave him for Tim or something. He's pissed that I'm talking to him -- to Tim. My ex. My ex who I haven't seen in 10 years. 10 years, dude. We were best friends first and neither of us have feelings for each other and I just want a goddamn friend. [A long, huffy sigh drew out of her chest.] So he's angry at me, Eddie is, and we thought I was pregnant, but I'm not pregnant. And we've been fighting and now he's trying to leave me I think, so that's fun. [She held out her hand for the shot glass.] Like, putting off the wedding and stuff. And nooowwww his ex is in town, and he didn't tell me. So I'm pissed. And sad. And confused. Did I leave anything out?
[Okay, maybe she rambled a little bit, and maybe there were gaps, and maybe she thought that Cat could fill in any holes in the story. Because Stephanie's opinions were oh so colored, too, by anger and by a vicious tequila-fueled buzz. She looked at Cat expectantly, but then glanced back to Reece to see how he was reacting to this trainwreck.]
