Re: Nora's room - Gwen & Nora
Gwen sat on the ottoman, once Nora was situated comfortable (as comfortably as she could be) on the chair. She watched as the other girl pulled back the bandage to reveal the burn marks, and she knew it had to be Doctor Briar that Nora had been to see. Gwen didn't like Doctor Briar, but she was pretty sure no one who had to work with him liked him. "I don't think things that help with chronic pain are supposed to leave marks like that. Was he testing to see the limits of tolerance?" Because that was kind of what the bad doctors did. Gwen knew that, scientifically, it was probably completely valid, since baselines and maximum tolerance needed to be established, but it was still really horrible.
Nora went on, explaining the extent of the testing, and Gwen held her breath as the other girl explained the level of pain she'd endured. It was weird (not in a good way) how numb Gwen was to the fact that pain was going to be a regular part of their lives, but Gwen had never known anything that wasn't the testing laboratory, and she accepted discomfort as a given.
Still, it was super hard to see someone else suffering. She leaned in close, and she risked a whisper that Nora might be able to hear, but only if she paid super close attention. "There's a girl here that's trying to escape."
Gwen, herself, wouldn't try to escape, and she knew it would be pointless to even dream about it now that the Dragon enforcer had arrived, but maybe Nora might want to go. She wouldn't blame her, not with how the other girl looked at that moment.
