NM: Cat & Leena
Sitting outside on the back patio, Leena wasn't nearly as concerned with Cat's possible age when she arrived as Cat was. It was one of those things that she had no control over, and she was neither attached to the Cat that looked more like her mother nor the one that looked more like her sister. Her concern wasn't even centered on the construction paper in front of her that she was currently doodling on (light purple, black crayon) because she was urged to draw whatever she wanted and right now it consisted of lots of swirls.
She was, maybe a tad, worried about seeing Cat at all. The book shop had been okay, but the times before that had been awful, and she needed not awful right now. The conversation with Stephanie still left her feeling unsettled in her skin, but the conversations with Claire had been good. Really good. She picked up the light green crayon and doodled a tree with all its branches intact and full of leaves. Full of life.
From the outside the place she'd chosen didn't look like much of a facility, which was one of the reasons why she'd chosen it. The inside was also rocking the whole southwestern, non-hospital vibe too and it was just different enough that it didn't immediately make her feel like the walls were closing in. And with plenty of outdoor space? Yeah, it worked for her.
She was just about done doodling when one of the techs came out to let her know she had a visitor and she almost smoothed her sweats down her skinny legs before she realized what a waste that was. Leaving the crayon behind, she grabbed her sheet of doodles and rolled it up. Still dressed in her typical hoodie, it was unzipped enough to show the navy blue t-shirt she had on underneath it. No shoes, but she was wearing the socks that Claire had sent her when she came walking in through the Great Room to reception.
Cat, minus anyone else. There was a little quirk of a smile, but her eyes were brighter, and her bones a little less prominent than they had been the last time she'd seen Cat. The shadows under her eyes were still there though, no matter how much the docs here tried to get her to sleep. "Hey."
